#Spotlight: Bruno Santos

Today we are releasing our interview with Bruno Santos.

Part of our #Spotlight Series, Bruno Santos is a 44 year-old man. He is a long-term sailor since he’s been on the sea since the age of 6 years old. Though sailing runs through his veins, he only got into the Yacht Charter business in 2017. Let’s hear, through his company iSea who he is.

What can you tell us about Isea ONE and Isea TWO?

Catamaran, Part of the Isea float.

“These are quite different boats!”

“The iSea One is a Sailing Catamaran from 2016, which can take up to 16 people, and with this boat we can do Day Charters and also Week Charters where people can sleep onboard while sailing along the Portuguese south coast. It’s perfect for a family day cruise or a friend’s week vacation.

The iSea Two is a 40 foot Power Boat that can take up to 8 guests on a day charter. Clients usually use this boat to have a day cruise along the Ria Formosa, with stops in some of the islands.

How did you get into the sailing world?

“I started sailing when I was 6 years old, following my older brother footsteps. Since then I’ve been involved in sailing as a Sailor, Sailing Coach and as a Sailing Club Sports Manager and been responsible for organizing the biggest sailing events ever held in Portugal, from 2007 ISAF World Championships, the America’s Cup World Series in Cascais to the 3 Volvo Ocean Race Stopovers in Lisbon (2012, 2015 and 2017) and many others.”

“In 2017, I was 40 years old and decided that I had to make a change in my career and got together with my older brother and founded iSea Yachting. It was an easy decision as we knew that there was a lot of potential to be explored in the Charter Business in Portugal and we would be able to invest in a company that would allow to put together our passion for sailing with a business that will provide for us.”

When and why did you decide to start your charter company?

Why did you choose WavySys?

“We chose WavySys because we were looking for a tool that would help us to manage our sales and a booking system that would allow us to have a better control of our boats.”

Tell us about your personal tip on the spot

“Our base port is in Faro and we choose it because it is one of the most beautiful places in Portugal. Our trips are made at the Ria Formosa Natural Park, which is a natural Lagoon and we will cruise along the channels and anchor in a couple of bays next to some beautiful beaches. We can also go out to Vilamoura Marina in just a couple of hours, and we can also go to the South Spain easily, allowing our customers to have different experiences and choose what kind of place better suits for them.”
